Eleanore I. Perlick
April 15, 1917 - December 14, 2012
(nee Affeldt) (Formerly Anderson, Mierendorf) was surrounded by her family as she met her heavenly Father on Dec. 14th, 2012.  Born April 15, 1917, to Atty George and Esther Affeldt in Milwaukee, Eleanore attended school in West Allis graduating from West Allis High School in 1933.  She attended Smith College and graduated in 1938 with degrees in English and German.  She continued her studies at UW-Madison earning her Master’s Degree and teaching certificate.  Eleanore taught English and German in Baraboo where she met her first husband of 46 years, Karl Anderson.  Karl and Eleanore had three children, George Perry (Marge) Anderson, of Three Lakes. Linda (Tony) Suminski, of New Berlin and Susan (Mark) Thompson, of Weston.  In 1989, Eleanore married Robert Mierendorf after the death of Karl. Robert and his wife Adrienne were long-time friends of Karl and Eleanore.  When Adrienne passed, Eleanore and Robert joined hearts and enjoyed 10 years of married life together.  God blessed Eleanore with her third marriage in 1999, when Bob Perlick lost his beloved Jeanie and Eleanore lost Robert Mierendorf.  Bob Perlick and Eleanore shared 13 years of love and companionship.  Eleanore spent her life in service to others.  She was a member of the Wauwatosa United Methodist Church for almost 60 years serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women’s Society, was active in missionary work, Bible study and church circles.  Eleanore was a 50 year member of the Wauwatosa Women’s Club and the PEO sisterhood.  Later in life she returned to teaching, helping perspective US citizens learn English as a second language.  Eleanore was a woman of deep faith who dearly loved her family, grandchildren and great-grand children.  Special family time was spent at their summer home in Three Lakes, WI.  Today five generations of Affeldt-Anderson family members share her love of northern Wisconsin nature, flowers and birds. She found joy in traveling, theater and music. She and her mother loved attending the Chicago Symphony Monday night concerts when the orchestra came to Milwaukee.

Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, Atty George and Esther Affeldt, her first husband, Karl Anderson, her second husband, Robert Mierendorf and her brother and sister-in-law, Atty George and Nancy Affeldt, Jr.  She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Perlick; her three children; her grandchildren, Kristen Anderson, Kari (Charlie) Volk, Karla Anderson, Jill (Brad) Dodge, Matt Schumann, Chris (Nicole) Schumann, Bradley, Andrew and Michael (Holly) Thompson, and great-grandchildren Brooke, Karlie, Kortnie, Kallie, Hunter, Brayden, Briley, Carson and Dalton.  Eleanore felt a strong bond for the Mierendorf and Perlick children and grandchildren, who also survive her along with other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to the loving and caring staff at Tudor Oaks Memory Care, the Allay Hospice Staff for their gentle end of life care, to Rent a Daughter and to Eleanore’s long-time physician, Dr. Ignace and his nurse, Liz.
