Burkman, James J. "Jim" Born to Eternal Light September 5, 2009, age 53 years. A man of strong family and spiritual values leaves behind his beloved mother, Lorraine Burkman and his twin sister, Ellen Burkman. He will be further remembered by other relatives and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, September 11, 2009, from 3PM until 7PM. Friends may join the family on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1927 N. 4th St., Milwaukee, from 9AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10AM, followed by interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Luncheon immediately following. James was a graduate of St. Lawrence Seminary in 1974. He worked and graduated from Columbia School of Radiology Technology and began his career at St. Luke's Medical Center. It is there he earned the Black Achievers Award. Leaving St. Luke's after 14 years, he spent his last 15 years at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin as a MRI Technologist. Jim was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His contagious smile and robust laugh could only be matched by his big heart. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family and friends. Jim's pleasures included fishing, golfing, volunteering at St. Francis of Assisi Parish and being a passionate Packer and Bucks fan.
