Kay DeAnna Fletcher

(Nee Lantz) Passed away peacefully on September 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 79. Kay was born on May 24, 1937 to the late Harold and the late Eileen Lantz in Kimball, South Dakota. She attended country grade school and graduated from Pukwana High School. Kay attended the School of Practical Nursing in Pierre, South Dakota. She worked at a hospital in New Underwood, South Dakota at which time she met and married here husband of 51 and half years, the late Morgan A. Fletcher Jr., who was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota.

In 1957 Kay and Morgan moved to Wisconsin, where Morgan was from. Kay had a few odd jobs at this time, but mostly did farm chores and field work, as she had done in her childhood days.

Kay and Morgan had four children, the late Rick, Teresa (Gary) Putman of Gainesville, TX, Steve of East Troy, and the late Paul. Kay had eight siblings, her two brothers Harold Jr. (Trudi) Lantz, the late Clifford (Cynthia) Lantz of Pukwana, South Dakota; sisters Carol (Steve) Johnson of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Nancy (the late Lanny) Hrabe of Great Falls, Montana, Sharon (Rollin) Smith of Chamberlain, South Dakota, Vickie (Dan) Dykes of Chamberlain, South Dakota, the late Marlys Cutter and Marlene (Jim) Simmons of Williamsburg, Virginia. Kay is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan (Kayla) Fletcher, Randy (Sarah) Fletcher, Rochelle Halopka, Travis (Brittany) Putman, Ashley (Lucien) Gehrig, Brittany Putman, and Lindsey Fletcher. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren Wyatt, Rikki, Karley, Haley, and Colton Fletcher, Shane, Jadlynn and Haven Halpoka. Kay will be missed by her brother-in-laws John Fletcher, Floyd (Charlene) Fletcher; sister-in-laws Patricia (the late Bob) Noble, Diane (the late Edward) Taylor, the late Ronald (Kathy) Fletcher; and her mother and father-in-law the late Morgan Sr. and the late Evelyn Fletcher. Kay will be greatly missed by her dear friend Sue, who she called “Angel”, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kay’s biggest joy in life was baby sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved to the moon and back. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and reading.

Kay was a proud member of St. James Catholic Church of Mukwonago.

Kay always said she just wanted to leave this world with her family knowing “HOW MUCH SHE LOVED THEM”

A Visitation will be held on Friday September 23, 2016, at ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 830 County Hwy NN East Mukwonago, from 11 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM. A Procession to Vernon Center Cemetery will immediately follow Mass of Christian Burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. James Catholic Church are greatly appreciated.
