Came Home to the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the age of 96. He is survived by his sons Dr. William (Betsy) Gustin and Dr. Alan (Kay) Gustin, 5 grandchildren and spouses, 6 great grandchildren, his sister Betty Jane Hamilton, and multiple nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Further survived by other relatives and friends.    

William graduated from the University of Nebraska in the class of 1940. He was invited to become an honorary member of two fraternities: Sigma Tau and Pi Tau Sigma. He was especially proud to be an employee of John Deere in Waterloo, IA and Dubuque, IA for 41 years. He attended the Oconomowoc Bible Fellowship and was a longtime member of the Rotary Club in Dubuque, IA. William was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He was a caretaker for his wife in her later years, and enjoyed visits from his granddaughters every Wednesday. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles every day, gardening, cooking, and made the best strawberry jam in the world.

  William will be laid to rest on Monday, June 20, 2016 at La Belle Cemetery.
