Doris sought me out when I was going to college in Milwaukee after hearing from Grandpa Ed that I had visited. Through her, I had the opportunity to meet her sisters and spend a day with them and Great Uncle Herman. I just found this obituary and am sad to hear of the passing of such a kind woman.

Doris and I had been friends since grade school. We kept in touch over the years, visited when we could and like old friendships, just like 'old times' whenever we could share. Doris was talented, bright, funny, and so enthusiastic about life, no matter the challenges. For me, a bitter sweet 'letting go'. She will enjoy the Celestial welcome, and find the wonder of her next journey.
My condolences to family and friends, however, she was and will be in memory a dearly treasured friend I was privileged to have known. Bon Voyage!
