Of Cedarburg, left this earth to join his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the age of 81 years.. He leaves his faithful and devoted wife Kay; loving children Kimberlyn Hahn, Joellyn Hammond (Tom), Kristin Mages (Dave), Jay Freyer, and Lt. Col. Jonathan Freyer (Jacqueline); proud grandchildren Meghan Doty (Ryan), Kaelyn Forston (Chris), Kristan Schmidt (Dan), Jeffrey, Douglas and Jacob Hammond, Joshua and Amanda Mages, Robert, Kennedy and Tillman Freyer; great grandchild Jack Forston. Dear brother of Charlotte Maile, Bernice King, Virginia Borck and Darlene Kleinow. Ellsworth was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Olga (Splett) and sister Alvera Box. Also survived by many other relatives and numerous friends.

Pastor Freyer was born on March 25, 1935 in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He graduated from Carthage College in Carthage, IL, and from Northwestern Lutheran Theological Seminary in Minneapolis, MN. Ellsworth was very proud to have received an honorary Doctorate degree from Carthage College. He was the Pastor of Christ Church in Mequon, WI for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He was also proud to have volunteered over a 30 year span as a Team Motivator for football teams at Carthage College in Kenosha, Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, and Homestead High School in Mequon, WI.

A service to honor his life will be held on Tuesday May 31 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1193 Lakefield Road in Grafton, with visitation from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m. There will be a private burial at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Pewaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
