Karen J. Gullickson

Gullickson, Karen J. (Nee Anderson) Age 73 Born in Wellman, Iowa to Gladys and Edmund Anderson December 29th, 1941.  The Family moved to Monroe, Wisconsin where Karen's father was a teacher.  Karen attended the public schools in Monroe, graduating from Monroe High School in 1959. She attended UW Whitewater Graduating in 1963 with a degree in teaching.  Karen got a teaching position at Marcy Elementary School in Menomonee Falls, WI where she met her future husband Peter Gullickson.  They were married in June of 1964.  Karen and Peter had two children and Karen retired from teaching to raise them.  She later taught as a substitute, worked as a travel agent, a real estate agent, and in a needle arts store. She is survived by her husband Peter, Children Peter (Julie), and Tia (Johnny) Oakley, and Grandchildren Brandon and Dylan.  She is also survived by Brothers Albert and Edmund Anderson, and sister Nancy Anderson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Karen enjoyed quilting, sewing, photography, traveling, and the internet.  She lived by the motto "Never be Ordinary" Memorial Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church W156 N8131 Pilgrim Rd. in Menomonee Falls on October 10th.  Visitation starts at 10am until the service at noon.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.
