I'm sure I'll always remember my Uncle Melvin. For me, he was always a very authentic and down-to-earth type of guy. And he had a very unique, and central relationship to me: he was a friend of the man who fathered me; he was a friend of the man who eventually became my father; and, in between, he almost became my father himself.
Melvin & Jean, Jean & Melvin: it was impossible to think of the one without thinking of the other. How fitting that they would "go home" so close in time to each other. Separated a short time, they're now re-united. And it just feels right that that's the way it should be.
My condolences to my Mathiak cousins & their families.
