Of Menomonee Falls. Born to Eternal Life June 20, 2015. Age 94.

Ward was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Caroline (nee Kohl), his brothers Russell and Wayne and his beloved wife of 44 years Jean (nee Godfrey). He is survived by his most loving partner and companion of more than 20 years, Maryann Carter, his 3 children, David (Barbara) Wentworth, Tom (Linda) Wentworth and Ann (John) Ledbury, his grandchildren Amy, Chris, Becky, Erin, Andy, Jennifer and Michael, his 11 great-grandchildren and by extended family and dear friends.

Visitation for family and friends at the Funeral Home on Friday June 26, 2015 from 4:00PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:00PM. Burial at Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater, WI.

Ward grew up on his family's farm near Whitewater, WI before enlisting in the US Army in 1940. During World War II, Ward served as a Staff Sergeant in Wisconsin's 32nd Infantry Division (Red Arrow), seeing combat action in New Guinea and its surrounding islands. After his honorable medical discharge and marriage to Jean, he became a skilled tradesman in the commercial refrigeration/air conditioning business. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, music, polka dancing and traveling both the US and the world with his favorite companion, Maryann. Ward was blessed with an infectious chuckle and a mischievous twinkle in his eye. All who knew him would attest to his core goodness and that he was truly the gentlest of gentleman. Ward will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
