Joseph Haigh Key

Age 87 of East Troy, WI passed into Eternal Life at Maplewood Care Center at Village of Manor Park on May 21, 2015. Born to Ray and Florence (Nee Haigh) Key on January 25, 1928 in Burlington, WI. Joe was a lifelong resident of East Troy.

Joe was preceded in death by his son Raymond David Key, his father Ray Key and his mother Florence (Nee Haigh) Key.

Joe is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Maud Lou (Nee Colby) Key. His sister Marion (Boyd) Henry and his daughter Ruth Anne (Bob) Miller. He is further survived by his grandchildren David Joseph Key, Kevin Michael Key, Tera Lynne (Nee Miller) (Nick) Theroux and great-grandchildren Natalie and Blake Theroux. Joe will be greatly missed by many other relatives and friends.

Joe proudly served his country from 1950 until 1952 in the US Army as a meteorologist, immediately joining the American Legion following his service, where he served as Commander for 2 years. He graduated with a degree in Agriculture from Madison in 1953. He then took over as a third generation owner of Keyland Stock Farm, a Century Farm, where he proudly worked until 2013. Joe married Maud Lou Colby on October 26, 1957. In 1959 he joined the Mason’s; being named Worshipful Master 3 times. He had a profound love for flying, fishing and motorcycles.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday May 30, 2015, at ST. JAMES UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2945 Main St, East Troy, from 10 AM until the time of Services at 11 AM. A procession to Evergreen Cemetery will immediately follow services with a gathering back at church for a luncheon and further fellowship.
