As she dedicated her life to her children, she also worked tirelessly helping to operate numerous family-run businesses, such as the grocery stores Green Tree Market and Heyer’s Quality Foods.  Throughout the 1980s, she owned Mike Houlihan’s bar and The Palm Garden Terrace restaurant at the Grand Avenue mall.  In 1988 she purchased a family run bakery, Racine Danish Kringles in Racine, Wisconsin.

One of Roylene’s passions was decorating her home for holiday celebrations with her children and grandchildren.  She loved gardening and tending to her birdhouses.  Roylene will be deeply missed by her family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Wisconsin Humane Society at 4500 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208, (414-264-6257) http://www.wihumane.org
