Caroline Margaret Gast Sauer
August 11, 1923 - April 12, 2015
        

Nee Gast) formerly a resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Bowling Green, Kentucky, died on April 12, 2015.  She was born on August 11, 1923, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Margaret Gast (nee Bethke), her husband, Warren Charles Sauer, her sister, Florence Gast Bergman, her brother, Reinhold Gast, and her twin brother, Carl Gast.  She is survived by her sons, Daniel Warren (Susan) Sauer, and Randall Howard (Sherree) Sauer; grandchildren, Matthew (Meridith) Sauer and Amy (Martin) Babbo; great grandchildren, Lila and Ruthie Sauer, and Daniel Babbo.

Caroline graduated from West Division High School, then married Warren Sauer in 1943.  Caroline and Warren were active members of Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church, where she served for many years as a Sunday School superintendent and teacher and Bible Study leader.  In 1965, Warren’s position with Cutler Hammer Corporation took the family to Bowling Green, Kentucky.  There Caroline was active in Girl Scouts, and she and Warren were active members of Christ United Methodist Church. Caroline was a devoted wife and mother, whose creativity was evident in her love of crafts, gardening and cooking. After Warren’s death in 1978, Caroline moved to Franklin, Tennessee, to be closer to her son, Randy, and lived there until the onset of dementia put her in the care of her son, Dan.

Visitation Friday, April 17, from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK/CHAPEL OF THE FLOWERS, 13235 W Capitol Dr., Brookfield.  Those wishing to honor Caroline’s memory may send memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W.
