Ivan E. Knuth
March 26, 1926 - December 12, 2014

Born March 26, 1926 to Albert and Emma Knuth, one of six children. He grew up on a farm in the Township of Honey Creek, Wis. At age 18, he joined the Army Infantry and served in the Phillipines in the 2nd World War. In 1946, he was discharged with honors.

It wasn’t long until he met his life long wife Eleanore. They had four children and eventually moved from Baraboo to West Allis where he did carpentry. In 1960 they moved to a new house in Hartland, where they would live for the next 30 years. While living there, he worked for several construction companies. He joined the VFW and Legion and was post commander for the VFW. Made long time friends, had lots of enjoyable times celebrating graduations, weddings, and anniversaries and such. Also, camping was a big time thing for many years.

As the children grew up, Ivan and Eleanore eventually moved to Spacious Acres in Sullivan. Retired in 1987, only to do several other jobs through the years, as he couldn’t sit still. In 1996, he decided to do some traveling. He traveled most of the states. Florida was winter break for several years, then on to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, the eastern states, three trips to Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Greece, east and west Canada, and Ireland. He loved to see different places.

He loved his family dearly. He loved to talk about his granddaughter Sarah’s wedding, as he did the privilege of walking her down the aisle. He also loved the time he called the grandkids and told them he needed help roofing. They, with their spouses, came full force. Two of the girls even roofed alongside the guys. He was so proud of them all. If there were things he couldn’t handle, Iver was always there for him. He was a great, wonderful husband, dad, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survived by his wife, Eleanore of 66 years. Father of Iver (Rosemary), Angela (Bob) Kilgoar, Rachelle (Tony) Barkley-Lopez, Lisa (Scott) Liesenfelder. Grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Dr, Brookfield, in the Chapel of the Chimes.
