Sawall, Eugene R. 

Deceased Eugene Raymond Sawall, 88 years old, resident of Milwaukee & Mequon WI, died on October 27, 2014 at Alexian Village.  He joined his Lord peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  

Eugene was born on March 24, 1926 in Appleton, WI to Louise (Vogt) & Chester Sawall, their second son after Gerald followed by two younger brothers Kenneth and Donald, all deceased. He was married on July 18, 1953 to Ruth Anita Fandrich and is survived by his wife and six children: Susan Lind (James), Mary Sawall (Jay Kelley), Patricia Cole (Bob), Ellen Sawall, Stephen Sawall (Norma), and Kathleen Cosgrove (Tom). His grandchildren are Anna and Evan Kelley, Emily, Jon and Grace Cole, Brandon Sawall, and Ethan and Tyler Cosgrove. His step-grandchildren are Norma (Mony) Debruyn, Eduard Ulloa and Mony's children, Dylan and Dalton Debruyn. 

He graduated from law school, University of Wisconsin in 1952. Eugene was a senior partner in Andrus, Sceales, Starke & Sawall, renamed Andrus Intellectual Property Law in Milwaukee. He was President of the Milwaukee Patent Law Association from 1974 to 1975.  

He was trustee of Saint James - Lumen Christi Catholic Church for fifteen years. 

The family appreciates the excellent care he received from Horizon hospice and the Alexian staff in his last years.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alexian Village Employee Appreciation fund.  

Eugene's memorial service will be held at the Alexian Village Chapel at 9301 N. 76th Street, Milwaukee‎ WI‎ this Saturday November 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Family and friends visitation starts at 10:00.
