Born to Eternal Life Friday, September 19, 2014.  Age 92. Beloved husband of Leone (nee Neitzel) for 62 years. Loving father of Sheryl Herold and Eric (Christine) Prigge. Loving grandfather of Alan (Ana) Herold, Julie (Jeff) Schafer, August and Maxwell Prigge; great-grandfather of Ayden and Andrue Herold and Jacob Schafer. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Visitation Monday, September 22 from 6:00pm until time of Service at 7:00pm at MOUNT OLIVE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5327 W. Washington Blvd., Milwaukee.   Graveside Services and military honors at Eagleton Cemetery in Bloomer, WI. Memorials to Mount Olive Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour appreciated. 

Vernon served in the US Navy during WWII.  He earned his ICC law degree and served as a manager in the transportation and trucking business.  Vernon was a member of the Alonzo Cudworth Post #23 and along with his wife Leone, were 55 year members of Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
