Jean and Bob were high school sweethearts at Ferguson High School in Ferguson, MO.. Jean graduated in 1947 and was the editor of the Ferguson High School yearbook. Jean attended Washington University in St. Louis and studied journalism.  She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Jean devoted herself to supporting Bob’s business career and raising their five children. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for 25 years. She had at least one child in college from 1967-1988, 21 years straight.

When they moved to Whitefish Bay, Jean volunteered and worked at Richard School for 7 years. Following Bob’s career move to Chicago, Jean got a job running the foreign language lab at Glenbrook North High School, retiring from there 18 years later. Moving to Mequon in retirement, she volunteered for 4 years at Wilson School, helping second graders learn to read. She inspired her children and many others with her lifelong love of reading.

Jean moved to Newcastle Estates when it opened in June of 2009. She immediately became involved with the residents council and especially enjoyed her time on the culinary committee.  Jean always had a ready smile and was the first to invite newcomers to join her at dinner.

The family will receive friends on Friday August 22, at NEWCASTLE PLACE CHAPEL, 12600 N.
