Atkinson, Charles A.

Passed peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 29, 2014 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Arleene. Loving dad of Angela (Greg) Ethier, Douglas (Kari) Atkinson, Lanette (Bob) Kudis and Ken (Renee) Hoffmann. Proud grandpa of Bailey, Julia, Danielle, Michael, Nicholas and Eric. Brother of Brenda Grant and Phyllis Dixon. Preceded in death by his first wife Anita (nee Jones) Atkinson, his brother Thomas, and his parents Arnold and Lola. 

Charles retired from Amoco/BP after 34 years of dedicated service, moving up the ranks from the mail room to Terminal Manager. Charles was a record holding multi-sport athlete. He was an exceptional golfer, playing golf for 50 years with 3 holes-in-one, 7 consecutive birdies- finishing with an all time low score of 63. He also enjoyed fishing, painting, woodworking, taxidermy, exercising, gardening and sharing his passions with his family and friends. 

Visitation will be Thursday July 31, 2014 at the Funeral Home from 4pm until time of service at 7pm. Burial will be in Parsons, Kansas at a later date.
