William Arthur Meisenheimer
March 15, 1921 - January 30, 2012
        

Meisenheimer, William A.  Bill entered Eternal Life on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the age of 90. Best friend and beloved husband for 65 years of Penny (Marcella Meister). Loving father of Linda (Bob) Frisch of Whitefish Bay and Pat (Dave) Hickey of Waukesha. Proud Grandfather to 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

 

During World War II, as a Lt. in the Marine Corps, on February 23, 1945 he led the first wave ashore onto Iowa Jima where his unit raised the flag on Mt. Surabachi. Bill loved his family, country, the Marine Corps and sports. Always a gentleman, he will be deeply missed bay all whose lives he touched.

 

Friends may greet the family on Friday, February 3, 2012 from 12:30 PM to the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM at ALEXIAN VILLAGE CHAPEL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, 9301 North 76th Street, Milwaukee. Memorials in Bill’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project; 4899 Belford Road, Suite 300; Jacksonville FL 32256.
