Judith "Judy" Ann Dunn
November 2, 1948 - April 25, 2024

Judith Ann Dunn was born on November 2nd, 1948 to parents Stanley and Renata Rockey. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Peachy (Geraldine Tagatz), and brothers Butch (Ronald), George, and Robert Rockey. She is survived by her very dear sister Phyllis Rebstock, who absolutely meant the world to her.

On April 24th, 1965, Judy married her soulmate and lifelong partner, James (Jim/Jimmy) Dunn. She carried and gave birth to three daughters, Pamela (Pam) Kremnitzer (Kenny), Shari Aufieri (Tony), and Lori Smith (Jamie). Judy built a beautiful life for herself, her husband, and her children that meant everything to her.  They moved around to Arizona and Connecticut, taking advantage of opportunities available to them; ultimately, however, they returned to Wisconsin and settled permanently to be close to family. Together they created an endless amount of memories with loved ones and the impact Judy had on others was greater than words could ever convey.

Judy’s daughters built families of their own and gave her grandchildren that were all extremely close to her. Pam, the oldest daughter, has a son, Kevin Trudeau, and two daughters, Samantha (Sam) Dickinson (Lucas), and Cassandra (Cassie) Chmela. Judy’s second-born daughter, Shari, has a daughter, Ashley Aufieri. And her youngest daughter, Lori, has a son, Tyler Smith, and a daughter, Brianna Smith. Two of Judy’s grandchildren gifted her the title of great-grandma. If you know Judy, you know that she absolutely adored snuggling babies and watching them grow up; becoming a mom, then grandma, and finally a great-grandma made her beam with pride. Judy’s grandson, Kevin, has two daughters, Lyrical Trudeau and Suzette (Suzy) Trudeau. Her granddaughter, Sam, has four children; a stepdaughter, Lola Dickinson, a stepson, Remy Dickinson, a daughter Althea (Thea) Dickinson, and a son Orion Dickinson. Judy is survived by her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

On April 25th, 2024, at 6pm, Judith Ann Dunn won her courageous and long-lived battle with chronic illness and pain. She was surrounded by many loving family members as she took her final breath at St. Elizabeth’s in Janesville, Wisconsin. The unbelievably strong woman, who defied the odds over and over again, completed her journey here on earth and earned the peace and comfort she has deserved for so long. Even in those last moments, part of her wanted to stay with the family members she is survived by, while the other part of her wanted to finally see the family who preceded her in death, especially her loving husband. In March of 1998, when Jim won his battle with cancer, Judy sent a large piece of herself along with him. While she was missing her other half, her family lit up her world; they filled her with as much love as she did them and kept her going day after day. April 25th will always be marked as a very special day that Judy became whole once again, leaving all pain and stress behind. Although it is very bittersweet that she is no longer with us here on earth, it is important to remember she is not truly gone; Judy, the most incredible mom, sister, wife, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, cousin, and friend, is, and forever will be, with us every single day.
