Peter H. Basler
November 11, 1939 - March 21, 2024
        

 Passed from this life, on March 21, 2024, at the age of 84 years. He was born on November 11, 1939, a son of Wilfred and Dorothy Basler. Peter earned a degree in Engineering from MSOE. He was employed by GE Medical for over 40 years. While there he was awarded three patents as part of the Genius of Invention Program. Peter also proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  Loving all kinds of music, Peter, played the trumpet, and even played a beat as a DJ in the Navy at Midway Island. A sports enthusiast at heart, Peter played basketball, baseball, track, and golf.  An avid Brewer, Bucks, and Packer fan, he enjoyed cheering on all the Wisconsin teams. Lending a helping hand was a strength of Peter. He would often help others by tinkering with broken items and even repair televisions for family and friends. His wife, kids, and especially his grandkids brought Peter great joy. He would do anything for them. Peter had a deep faith and even attended seminary at St. Francis Seminary. He will always be remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.

Peter is survived by his wife, Jean Basler; his children, Theresa (David) Midlikowski, Mark (the late Kimberly) Basler, Paul Basler, Michael Basler, Thomas (Sara Abbott) Schmidt, Stephanie (Johnny) Schmidt- Ellis, and Gretchen Jones; his treasured grandchildren, Nathan Basler, Andy (fiancée Candice Long) Basler, Ben (Rebecca) Midlikowski, Sam (fiancée Amanda Storck) Midlikowski, Madaline Schmidt, Olivia Schmidt; great-grandson, Edmond Midlikowski; siblings, Wilfred (Diane) Basler, Annette Basler, David (Lynn) Basler, and RoseAnn Basler. Peter is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Necmiye; parents, and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Basler.

A visitation for Peter will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, N88 W17658 Christman Rd., Menomonee Falls. Private entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield.
