Kathryn M. Darnell
April 16, 1926 - April 17, 2017
        

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 17th, 2017 at the age of 91.   She was a spiritually strong, orthodox Roman Catholic; intelligent and articulate, and known for her warm, gentle and hospitable nature.  

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents Philip and Anna Rabar and her husband Rev. Mr. Ramon Carl Darnell.  She is survived by and is the mother of Dr. Kathryn (Dr. John) Goetz, Richard (Maria) Darnell, Michelle (Dr. Jim) Smrecek, Tim Darnell, Chrisanne (Matt) Robertson and James (Lori) Darnell; grandmother of Jennifer (Josh) Rumbuc, Tim (Sara) Goetz, Tara (Peter) Leitermann, Richard Goetz, Annemarie (Rich) Gehan, Michael Goetz, Christina Smrecek and Heidi Smrecek, Ariel Darnell and Joshua Darnell; and great grandmother of Rose, Lydia, Solomon, Natalie, Sophia, Isaiah, Briella, Josephine, Isabelle, Gideon and Patrick.  Further survived by other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus, 3800 N. 92nd Street, Milwaukee from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.  Private family burial will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus appreciated. 

Kathryn was a member of Opus Sanctus Angelorum and vocation director at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida. Kathryn graduate from the University of Michigan and was a lifetime-certified K-12 teacher for 4O+ years.  She was an inspiration for her students and all the people she touched during her rich and varied lifetime.  She taught at St. Catherine's Academy and St. Bonaventure High School in California and at St. Luke and St. Dominic Schools in Wisconsin.   The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Anne’s Salvatorian Campus for their compassion and care.
