Preceded in death by her parents Frank and Alvina Luebke (Bredendick/Lucht). Beloved wife of the late Paul Wegner. Dear Mother of Paul (Deena) Wegner, Julie (Daryl) Burmeister, Phillip (Jennifer) Wegner, and Nichole (Brian) Rockteacher. Preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Lucht, Robert Lucht, Walter Luebke, Ervin Luebke,  Ramon Lucht, and her sisters Naomi Lucht, Laverne Peterson, Evelyn Ciesielski, Irene Riley, Hazel Williams, and Arlene Conrady. Dear sister of William (Joyce) Luebke of Mukwonago, Karen (Bob) Merryfield of Illinois, and Marie (the late Dave) Van Huis of Illinois. Beloved Grandmother of Chase, Jordan, Haley, Jaxson and Lillian. Carol will also be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.

Carol was born in Mukwonago and it continued to be her home until the time of her passing. She attended Mukwonago Union High School where she graduated in 1962. She married her high school sweetheart Paul on November 7, 1964 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mukwonago. Carol held various jobs throughout the years having worked at Citizen’s Bank, The Waukesha Unemployment Office, Pick ‘n’ Save, and Bauer Brothers’ vegetable stand. She very much enjoyed her time spent at the vegetable stand as she loved to work outside. She liked to spend her free time gardening tending to her favorites; moss roses, ferns, and her own personal vegetable garden. She was very much an animal lover, having been the owner of many different pets over the years. From dogs, to cats, to birds and hamsters. She would be heartbroken whenever there was a loss of a pet. Carol was briefly a member of the Mukwonago Lionesses. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time bowling on leagues with Paul at Jay’s Lanes, eventually passing the love of bowling on to her children. She enjoyed staying in touch with long time friends from high school. Being blessed with two friends with the same name as her meant they were destined to stay in touch and be life long friends, Carol Loppnow and Carol Moore. Carol enjoyed listening to music throughout her life. She was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, collecting his records, and cd’s as well as watching his movies as often as she could. She passed her love for music onto her children, exposing them to an eclectic mix between Bob Marley, to Conway Twitty, and UB40. Carol enjoyed spending time with her children and was well known by her children’s friends, often being called Ma Wegner by many of them. Most recently Carol enjoyed spending time with friends attending meat raffles at Jay’s Lanes, shooting dice with her dear friends at Lakeview Terrace Apartments, and spending time with her grandchildren. She took great pride in the feeding of her outdoor animals as well, always having full bird feeders and putting out peanuts for the squirrels. She will be remembered for her generous nature, deep concern for friends, and her many unforgettable sayings.

A visitation will be held from 2-4pm until the time of service at 4pm on Thursday February 23, 2017 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 410 West Veterans Way (formerly Hwy NN), Mukwonago.
