Sharon Saxe Sydow
April 15, 1940 - February 16, 2017
        

(nee Saxe) Was called home on February 16, 2017 at the age of 76 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her two daughters Anita (Tom) Ehmke and Donya (Brian) Baumgartner; her grandchildren Matthew, Kevin, and Kelsey McSorley, Zachary, Andrew, and Leslie Tadin, and Cole Baumgartner; her brother Edward (Jan) Saxe; her sister Marcia (Ted) Hansen; her sister-in-law Sue Bonamer; her aunts Millie Olszewski (nee Kolich) and Barbara Lancour (nee Kolich); several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, extended family, and great friends. Preceded in death by her parents Ted and Anne (nee Kolich) Saxe and her brothers Donald Bonamer and Roger Saxe. 

She was born in Escanaba, MI and then moved to Oconomowoc, WI. She went to school at St. Jerome. She worked at the Day Time Bakery until she graduated high school in 1958. She attended Whitewater University studying English and Grammar. She met her husband there, Donald Sydow, who was also from Oconomowoc, and was married for 13 years.    

Sharon was a dental lab technician, then a dental assistant for Dr. Crowley, DDS for 20 years. She later worked at the ODTC serving meals to the residents. She loved boating, her kids, her family, her dogs, singing, dancing, music, and the arts. She often played cards with family and friends. She always shared her passion for music with her brothers who loved to sing with her. She resided at the Elizabeth Residence for the last 11 years.   

Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 995 Silver Lake St, Oconomowoc, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, H.A.W.S. for her love of dogs (especially rescue’s), and the Oconomowoc Arts Center are appreciated.   

The family would like to thank the staff at the Elizabeth Residence for all their care, patience, respect, and most of all for the love they showed Sharon and becoming her extended family. We will forever be grateful for their compassion. We would also like to thank Kindred Hospice for their special care and grace bestowed to Sharon and our family.
