Mary Ellen Jancik
March 18, 1934 - January 19, 2017

(Nee Wesendorf) Born to eternal life Jan. 19, 2017, age 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Joe. Loving mother of Karen (Craig) Korn. Cherished grandma of Kaytlyn (Del) Korn and Lauren Korn. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret (nee McMorris) Wesendorf, her brother Thomas Wesendorf, brother-in-laws Stephen, Urban, John, sister-in laws Pat, Ruth, Joyce and nephews Michael and Tommy. Survived by sister-in-law Sue Wesendorf, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Mary was a 1952 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and a 1955 graduate of Columbia School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at both Columbia Hospital and Glenfield Nursing Home. Being a nurse was very important to her and her kindness and caring made her a special one.  In 2005 she received the Marjorie Wolff German Humanitarian Award from the Columbia College of Nursing Alumni Association. She was very proud of her nursing school and had been on Columbia’s Alumni Council for many years.

Her church family meant the world to her.  She served her church by being on the vestry for many years, being a member of the Angelus guild, and knitting for the St. Francis Prayer Shawl ministry.  Mary loved sailing, knitting, music, reading, cats, and her family. “Mrs. Claus” was always generous with others, bringing joy to everyone she knew.

Many thanks to the staff at Riverview Village Assisted Living and Seasons Hospice for their loving care.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held Saturday February 4 at ST. FRANCIS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, N84 W16525 Menomonee Ave., Menomonee Falls from 9:30 am until time of services at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon and a 2:30pm committal service at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
