Giardina-Papa, Giuseppe Age 81. Born to Eternal Life Monday July 26, 2010. Beloved husband for 52 years of Felicia (nee La Monica). Dear father of daughter Nancy, married to Tom Ruppert. Caring father to his son Carmelo. Loving grandfather of Melissa and Monica Ruppert. Dear brother of Antonio Giardina-Papa. Further survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Carmelo and Filippa Giardina-Papa; his sisters, Antonia and Tindara; and his brother, Ignazio. Visitation Saturday, July 31 from 9:00am until 10:15am with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at ST. SEBASTIAN’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5400 W. Washington Blvd., Milwaukee. Procession to and entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee. Joe was born in Gioiosa Marea, Italy on January 2, 1929. He grew up in a family of 5 children and a large extended family. He lived a good and productive life in Italy before immigrating to America in 1970 with his wife and 2 children. He loved cars, and while living in Italy he owned and operated his own transport company. Upon coming to America, he worked as a core-maker for Grede Foundries until his retirement in 1992. He took great pride in his work at Grede. He enjoyed cars, boxing, soccer, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. He was much loved by the people that knew and surrounded him, and his presence will be truly missed!
